A light and safe ice pick for freefall. You can't climb an icefall with this, but it's a nice addition to an icy slope.

Super lightweight

Awesome axe, compact and lightweight. Very easy to strap them to your pack and forget about them until you need them. The ergonomic design feels very natural in your hand and can be used for extend periods with out discomfort or fatigue.

I would appreciate it if it arrives a little earlier.

A little short, but knew that before purchasing, fine for when you’re going up or down steep slopes, swap over to hiking poles for flatter areas. Note it doesn’t come with hand strap.

Perfect, it is very light, anchors very well in the ice, it could be 5-10 cm longer.

I bought two Petzl rides. It weighs 248g per bottle and is very convenient in snowy mountains. It's lighter than the ice ax I used before. It is used in March, April, May and the Northern Alps of Japan.

Very lightweight; good for ski touring and climbing some steep snow. This axe's light weight makes it take longer to dig out trenches for snow anchors and setting pickets is also more challenging, but still doable.

Excellent tool for ski touring and light mountaineering. It’s not just the grammage but the excellent balance and hand-feel that makes this feel so light even after extended use. Plunges fine despite the lack of a spike. I would recommend getting Petzl’s Trigrest pommel that comes with the Gully version (identical all-aluminum angled shaft) for a more secure swing, given how light it is. No self-arrest experience to share but others say it performs well. Will easily fit inside most 30L+ packs if desired.

Great axe for ski touring, small and light so taken on every trip and don’t even know it’s there -until you need it. Well made.
