Simply an incredibly good batch knife. Does everything it's supposed to and is really safe thanks to the sturdy handle and hand stop.
Update to the review: On June 7, 2023, when I was tired, I stabbed myself at the bonfire site of the deserted hut in Sarvioja. It cut the meat incredibly well! Sink deep easily and effortlessly! After the loss of deciliters of blood and the illegal ligation, a helicopter ride to Sodankylä.
5/5 I recommend!

Great craftsmanship! You get what you paid for. Exactly the same as in the pictures.

I first bought the smaller version of this knife, the Trailblazer/Pioneeri, and just felt, that a little extra in size could have a huge impact on how the knife might feel in one´s hand. Long story short: it surely does, but for the ammount of money you have to pay for either one, both are just SPLENDID knives for any "lighter" outdoor activity. For batoning wood the blade strength between 2.6 and 2.7mm might be a bit too thin for safe and regretless working with any thickness of branches..so far I wouldn´t say, that it can´t be used for that in any case, if you just pay a little attention on what you´re trying to do. - very good allrounder knife, that - no matter, what modell you chose - drops viciously sharp out of the box and through any of your limbs, that you might choose to try and catch it. Very good to use with fire steals. Would definetely buy again and would definetely recommend buying - though the blade´s coating very slightly appears to be glittering..=) (The coating might be sturdy, but it´s not plain black.)

Guaranteed Marttiini quality. Especially suitable for those with a slightly bigger hand but want a lighter knife. This is a remarkably large wilderness knife compared to other Martins. The pioneer knife is practically exactly the same gadget as this one, but it is the size of normal small lynx-type knives. It’s worth looking at both and judging which one sits best for your own hand and purpose. In both, I think the handle is the best possible; the knife does not have to be decorated, but above all it must not be slippery. Here's the grip.
It is substantially lighter to use than other thicker knives with thicker blades, and the rubber handle sits firmly even in a wet and slightly cumbersome hand. Due to its light weight and tip smoothness, there may not be any baton tips, there are other "full Tang" products. The coating appears reasonably durable.
The sheath is great in size and I use it to carry a couple of other big wilderness knives with small tunes :)

Almost a magical moment to get this in your hands. Sturdy workmanship, high quality, details polished. Involved in heavy use, e.g. The woodpeckers come in this halved interval daily in order to get the sprinkler to the right size pieces. The blade is a bit chipped, but it stubbornly plays and the surface is not scratched. Rubber handle firm and comfortable in the hand.
