Great site! I had measured my feet and the advice was to order a size larger, so I ordered size 40 instead of 39. Unfortunately, I had to return the Meindl Borneo mountain boots because they were a size too small, so they actually had to be size 41. What a pity that I couldn't exchange them because I live in another country.

During the break-in, the shoes took shape on the foot quickly without causing major problems. The leather is easy to clean and care for. Unfortunately, the soles wore out in just one winter as much as the old harder soles did in 15 years, which means the sole material is unnecessarily soft.

Feel sturdy and comfortable. Gotta look for a shoe conditioner somewhere, maybe ask a neighbor for help picking it up along the way, at the store. The previous ones, which lasted a few decades, were surprising: the sole of the second shoe had cracked horizontally. I didn’t use enough - and take care of it: for a few years I didn’t go so seriously in picking berries, from the forest.

Great shoes for difficult terrain, even for young people. There is stiffness. Requires run-in. The pair that happened to us came off the arm cushion (turned transversely inside the mountain), but the repair was successful during the warranty period - again a playing game.

Sturdy and comfortable on the foot, but slippery when the ground is frozen. Even at zero weather or when the air is a bit on the plus side but the ground is on the frost side, the shoes don’t like it. The rubber material on the sole hardens, and the shoes are not suitable for the rest of the year when winter is just coming.

Finally I found boots completely in leather, which form to the foot. Boots with waterproof, untamable membranes will never be so comfortable. Fast delivery. Clear instructions for possible return. Here I am happy to shop again.

Love my new Meindl Borneo Lady. A both nice and fantastic boot made for me. I really like that it is not GoreTex but just leather.

With the shoes I just bought, I returned from a 55km hike and no bladders or abrasions on my feet. The strap tension stays well, and the membrane-free shoes have really good water resistance. Breathability also good. I recommend!
