The shock absorption of the rods works around -10 in good weather. The effect of shock absorption is perhaps best noticed in the hands of the next day. In the case of rods, shock absorption can also be switched off, ie if damping is not required in some situations. The length adjustment worked just fine. The surface of the rod is slippery and I would recommend tightening it properly. If your hand slips, use grip gloves to tighten it. Also be sure to check that the tightening nut on the Q-lock mechanism is not too loose or in danger of dripping. Good and sturdy rods. May be worth up to 5 *, however I gave moderate 4 *.
