Nordwand Pro HS Pants are robust, light and elasticated Gore-Tex® Pro® hard shell pants with “most rugged” technology for the perfect combination of weather protection and abrasion resistance. The climbing-specific cut offers freedom of movement on the rocks while gaiters, hem edge reinforcement and crampon protection, made from virtually indestructible Dyneema® material, protect against crampons and rough rock faces. Worn resort skiing a couple times. Did not think at all about wearing them. That's a compliment. Nice fabric stretch. As usual with Mammut, good waist fit adjustment. These have vertical zippers on the snow cuffs. They are fiddly and a little time consuming, not something you want to fit more than once a day, but very effective at sealing and staying put. The choice of two zipper lines allow for a wide range of boot cuff sizes. Pockets are shallow and there are only the two front pockets. I wear these with tights or tights + puffy down shorts, and have found both these combinations to fit well under the pants. Plan to wear these climbing and backcountry skiing, expect the pants to perform well in these activities. Overall, typical Mammut quality in design and manufacture, recommended.
